Tara Melwani, a disciple of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, has organised His Holiness's public talks for thousands of people in Bangalore and in Mumbai on numerous occasions. Born and raised in Singapore, Tara was involved by the business times of Singapore and is one of its young leaders.
At Temasek, a part of the Singapore Government's attempt to create an environment of learning through its employees' efforts, Tara taught meditation to their directors and senior management. Tara has done over 36 meditation retreats for 7–100 days through her own efforts to make sure she has cultivated a disciplined mind.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama made Tara Melwani his direct student in April 2023 in Dharamsala, making it known publicly to the YPO Singapore organising committee.
Her only so say “Yes, Tara was shocked to know that she had been his student for many lifetimes.”
His Holiness became his ultimate teacher, making sure she had been taught by her to be ethical, compassionate and kind.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has instructed her to teach and guide those interested in secular ethics and in Buddhist meditation in the Indo-Tibetan Tradition. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama reminds everyone that India is the guru and Tibet is the chela. She has been his student since 1999 and in many lifetimes.
